Selby Renewable Energy Park

SREPSelby Renewable Energy Park is an exciting new project which promises to transform an area of the former Tate & Lyle Citric Acid Plant in Selby into one of the UK’s leading renewable energy plants.

Using the latest anaerobic digestion technology to recycle commercial food waste, the £20 million project will generate enough clean renewable energy annually to power 10,800 homes, create 120 new jobs for Selby and produce a nutrient rich bio-fertiliser that can be used for sustainable food production as well as providing a low cost heat source for local businesses.

Intandem Marketing and PR were appointed by with Selby Renewable Energy Park to organise and facilitate the public consultation process that preceded the application for planning permission, including:-

• Researching and writing public consultation documents
• Obtaining and translating planning views from local and county stakeholders
• Production of display and printed materials for consultation meetings
• Planning, organising and facilitating public consultation meetings
• Co-ordinating media information and consultation

Planning permission for the project was obtained in July 2009.
